Hip Hop Charts : Platinum for Alicia Keys

After selling more than 742 000 copies of her new album As I Am on the first week Alicia Keys has now hit the Platinum mark according to Nielsen’s SoundScan. The R&B star pushed another 348,500 copies for a total of 1,092,200 units sold.
Chris Brown is up to No. 9 this week with 120,800 more fans copping his new album Exclusive. After three weeks, his album is now certified Gold with 525 400 copies sold with the help from various guests including The Game, Big Boi, Lil’ Wayne, Kanye West and T-Pain.
Jay-Z is down to No. 14 selling 86,500 additional units of his concept album American Gangster with a total of 643K.
Beyonce is way up to No. 19 bagging 73,300 more copies sold of B’Day (Total 2,983,300) thanks to her recent performance at the American Music Awards. And Fergie is still The Dutchess with her solo album up to No. 26 this week as she sells 56,300 copies for a total of 2,987,200 albums sold.
Elsewhere we find Soulja Boy at No. 32 bagging 44,200 more copies of Souljaboytellem.com for a total of 381,200. Kanye West is No. 39 on the Charts this week moving 39,400 copies of Graduation (Total 1,714,000).
Freeway debuted at No. 42 this week with 36,000 copies of his album Free At Last sold. The album features appearaces by Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross and Scarface, among others.
