. It's part of the Transition-Metal Dihalides. It is the rarest form of tungsten. This material is part of certain catalysts used for hydrodesulfurization and hydrodenitrogenation.
WS2 tungsten disulfide
It is similar in structure to MoS2 as well as a type of MoS2; it replaces MoS2’s coordinatesphere with Watoms. These are contained within a triangular prism. After 1992, the heating of this layer structure led to formation inorganic Nanotubes (W2)
The majority of WS2 Crystals appear dark gray and have hexagonal shapes. The WS2 Crystals can also be seen layered. The WS2 Crystal is similar to MoS2, a dry oilslubricant.
Many thought that WS2 would be unaffected by ambient oxygen. Studies on single-layer, environment-dependent WS2 oxidation have revealed that the contrary is true. One layer of WS2 is transformed quickly into tungstenoxide by photooxidation. The photooxidation reaction can be performed under ambient or atmospheric conditions. The visible wavelength of light, 660nm/>1.88eV is absorbed and oxidized by WS2. The reaction can only occur if there is water and oxygen. The products will be tungsten oxide and sulfuric acid. Similar results were observed for semiconductor transitional metallic dihalides, such as MoS2, when they were exposed to ambient light.
Combining hydrofluoric acids and nitric can cause WS2 to be attacked. In oxygen rich areas, WS2 may turn to tungsten dioxide if heated. The problem is that WS2 doesn't melt with oxygen. Instead, it will decompose into tungsten oxide. At 1250oC, WS2 will melt.
Chemical exfoliation has been used to get rid of monolayers WS2 in the past. It involves placing lithium in Hexane then applying ultrasonics to the Li compound. You can use different agents to get rid of WS2, such as lithium halide and chlorosulfonic.

1. Roasting decomposition method:
At temperatures of between 57-60degC, stir the mixture continuously for three hours. Keep the mixture warm for 16 hours. To create ammonium-tungstate, the ammonium and hydrogen sulfide gases react. Ammonium Tetrathiotungstate is the result of this reaction. It can then be converted to tungstenoxide by heating it at high temperatures.

2. Tungsten reacts slow with liquid sulfur. You can make WS2 by changing the sulfur vapor color to red hot. Mixing tungsten with a stoichiometric sulf flower can create WS2. Reacting at 600pa, or 1600pa can create orthorhombic compounds.
3. By heating the ammonium-tetrathiotungstate and decomposing it, under the condition that the air is isolated, the temperature increases from room to 700 to 1200. After being kept at room temp for between 24-48 hours and decomposing it, the temperature drops to ambient using a temperature gradient that is 30-110degC/hour. After it has been kept at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours, the temperature gradient is 30-110degC/hour.
This process produces ultrafine and scaley tungsten dioxide. This doesn't cause any environmental damage.
